The Independent Validators that Make Solana Blockchain Decentralised

In order to build one of the fastest and most innovate blockchains, Solana partnered with many teams distributed around the world to provide high-performing and secure blockchain infrastructure. These validator nodes can be seen in real-time over at the Solana Beach Solana Validator Dashboard.

Why Decentralisation Matters?

The importance of decentralization

The reality, however, is that without decentralization these crypto networks lose their most important qualities of being “permissionless” and “censorship-resistant” — that is, that anyone can use the network and anyone can build on top of them… After all, the entire point of a decentralized blockchain is to provide a hard-promise — an immutable ledger with open, non-discriminatory participation

Spencer Bogart

Who are the Decentralised Solana Validators?

The teams that support Solana build their network are from all around the world from New York to Singapore and Switzerland to Canada. For each validator node listed in the Solana Beach Validator Dashboard, we have tried to highlight the ones that have an online presence, who provide staking, validating and PoS consultancy services. Of course, anyone can setup a validator node and remain totally anonymous too! That is the beauty of this open source globally decentralised world we live in.

If any of the below information below is incorrect, such as whether they provide staking services or an actual validator node on MainNet, please let Solana.Blog know via twitter or comment below! Thanks

Their participation in the incentivized testnets, they’ve been extremely helpful as we worked to finalize our design for the Tour de SOL by sharing their experiences from other testnets. Their feedback and input were particularly important to ensure that we were not only designing incentives to generate the right outcome for the Solana network but to also ensure it holistically captured the pain points and considerations of the broader validator community.
